Site Build It's block by block builder is an amazing tool for someone who doesn't know anything about building websites. However, if you're familiar with HTML and have designed your own pages in the past, then you'll be happy to know that SBI fully supports uploading your own HTML. It's a little different than using your FTP program, but once you get used to it you'll find it works very nicely. I started out with the block builder, but eventually I moved over to uploading my own HTML since I'm kind of a website design snob.
Presently SBI doesn't support things like SQL or PHP, but they are about to release Infin It!, which will enable PHP and give much more flexibility to advanced users. SBI can be a little cramping for someone used to coding their own websites, but I think the trade off is worth it. You'd be paying for your own hosting anyway, and SBI's keyword research tools, automated search engine submission and ranking reports, etc. are invaluable.
Also, Site Build It supports its own modules within your custom HTML pages. This means you can use SBI's integrated form system, content 2.0, list builder, etc. just by inserting a small piece of code within your HTML page.
